Cherokee County Courthouse

Cherokee County is located in the southernmost corner of southeast Kansas and borders Missouri to the east and Oklahoma to the south. It is approximately 587 square miles with an estimated 2000 population of 22,552. Columbus is the county seat.

All record search requests must be in writing. Copies of documents are 25 cents per page. Hourly search fee is $12. We have a public access computer with cases beginning in 1990.
